HUI-World Video Contest: Students Invited to Showcase Their Scientific Creativity

As part of the European HUI-World project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, students are invited to take part in an exciting video contest designed to highlight their learning and creativity. The competition encourages participants to share their
understanding of Earth Science and STEM topics through an engaging and educational short video.

Students taking part in the HUI-World programme will work in teams of four to five to produce a video of up to five minutes. The topic is open, if it relates to one of the learning units studied during the project. The goal is to present a scientific concept or
issue clearly, creative, and accessible.

Submissions will be open from 16 March to 5 April. After the deadline, the videos will be reviewed by a jury composed of representatives from the project’s partner organisations. Each video will be evaluated based on several criteria, including
scientific relevance, educational clarity, originality, and overall production quality.

The winners will be announced on 22 April, Earth Day, a symbolic date that reflects the project’s commitment to environmental awareness and sustainability. Several prizes will reward the most outstanding entries. The first prize is a fully funded trip to a national park in the winning team’s country, offering students the opportunity to experience Earth Science in the field. The second prize will provide each team member with a geology kit, allowing them to carry out their own experiments. The third prize consists of a one-year subscription to a scientific magazine, such as National Geographic.

Beyond the competition itself, the initiative aims to inspire students to communicate science creatively, strengthen their critical thinking, and share their perspectives on the environmental challenges facing our planet.
